Original Errant has been set up to foster an exchange between art, science and humanities through a dialogue and understanding of individual fields of study. It is a unique opportunity for an inter generational residency of shared experiences and differing perspectives.
2024 will see the launch of its first Residency, a partnership with Utter Nonsense and The Excelsior Trust, structured around a three-week voyage in the North Atlantic Islands of Orkney, Shetland and Faroes, aboard the Lowestoft fishing smack, Excelsior.
The North Atlantic Islands Residency provides established artists and young innovators the opportunity to explore the emotional dynamics of being at sea, personal disciplines, fieldwork study, knowledge exchange, plus working towards a collaborative project, exhibition and publication for 2025.
