My sister, a poet, invites me along to Aldeburgh for the poetry festival. I've been going every year since 2003 and although I confess to scant knowledge of poetry the chance to listen to new words and new poets always delivers a renewed vision. This year kicked off with 'The Singing Glacier', a live performance of poetry, music and film inspired by an expedition to Greenland. Then over the weekend we heard the poets John Clegg, Karen McCarthy Woolf, Michael Laskey, Ishion Hutchinson, Paddy Bushe and Chris Agee.
